ZotHacks 2020 is Hack at UCI’s third mini-hackathon geared towards beginners taking place on November 13th at Donald Bren Hall!
At this event, hackers will experience an introduction to hackathons and software development techniques. The event is free to attend, technical workshops and prizes will be provided! Unfortunately, due to space limitations, ZotHacks is limited to ONLY UCI students.
Hacking begins Friday evening and ends Sunday morning. All submissions MUST be made here on Devpost.
$480 in prizes
Submitting to this hackathon could earn you:
If you applied to ZotHacks 2020, received an offer to attend, and went on to confirm that you will attend, you are eligible to attend ZotHacks 2020. If you attended and hacked at ZotHacks 2020, then you are eligible to make a submission.
Submission must be linked with a git repository or .zip file of the project.
How technically impressive was the hack? Was the technical problem the team tackled difficult? Did it use a particularly clever technique or did it use many different components? Did the technology involved make you go "Wow"?
Did the team put thought into the user experience? How well designed is the interface? For a website, this might be about how beautiful the CSS or graphics are.
Tackling a problem is what gives meaning to a project. But just tackling a problem is useless if you can’t articulate the problem and/or your project doesn’t actually solve it.
What did you learn and how did you apply it? ZotHacks is primarily about learning something new and then eventually being applied in their projects. This adheres to Hack’s motto, Learn, Explore, Create.
